Congratulations to everyone at Newsholme Food group in Oakes. The Shadow Business Secretary Ken Clarke MP was their guest on Friday as he officially opened a £2.5m factory extension at the company’s base on New Hey Road. The family run business was begun half a century ago by Trevor Newsholme and has grown to become one of the country’s biggest suppliers of meat products. I can certainly vouch for the Cumberland sausages.
