Examiner Business Awards

Examiner Business Awards

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees at last week’s Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards held at the Galpharm Stadium.

Despite all the success stories local businesses still need help and a Conservative government would:

  • Establish a temporary National Loans Guarantee Scheme to get credit flowing again and help protect jobs
  • Allow struggling firms to defer their VAT bills for up to six months
  • Cut small firms’ payroll taxes
  • Help companies with the costs of hiring new staff by giving tax breaks for new jobs
  • Cut the main rate of corporation tax
  • Cancel Labour’s planned increase in the small companies tax rate, and cut the rate instead
  • Reducing the burden of regulation to give businesses more freedom and greater flexibility
  • Simplifying employment law to make it easier to hire people
  • Improve skills training and apprenticeships
