Congratulations to all the winners and nominees at last week’s Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards held at the Galpharm Stadium.
Despite all the success stories local businesses still need help and a Conservative government would:
- Establish a temporary National Loans Guarantee Scheme to get credit flowing again and help protect jobs
- Allow struggling firms to defer their VAT bills for up to six months
- Cut small firms’ payroll taxes
- Help companies with the costs of hiring new staff by giving tax breaks for new jobs
- Cut the main rate of corporation tax
- Cancel Labour’s planned increase in the small companies tax rate, and cut the rate instead
- Reducing the burden of regulation to give businesses more freedom and greater flexibility
- Simplifying employment law to make it easier to hire people
- Improve skills training and apprenticeships
