Jason recently joined rugby league legend and former Huddersfield Giant Robbie Paul at the recent Supporters Direct RL Conference.

The event, which was held at the birthplace of rugby league, the George Hotel in Huddersfield, was titled “Rugby League: An Alternative Future.” Jason, Robbie and the other panellists answered a variety of questions from the floor.

Jason, a big Huddersfield Town fan, said he’d like to see promotion and relegation back in the Super League along with a GB international team to take on the Aussies.

Your Country Needs You

Jason spent 4 packed days along with 14,000 other delegates at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham. He met and discussed a whole host of issues relating to his Colne Valley constituency – rail, cancer charities, Huddersfield University, Kirklees College, defence contractors, Yorkshire Water, local businesses, local sport, rural broadband, children’s care, the Police Federation, Post Offices and much more. He also stayed to see the Prime Minister make his speech.

David Cameron has a patriotic, passionate and clear vision for where he wants to take our country. The PM said that although cuts are necessary, this Government is about much, much more than cuts. The Coalition came together in the national interest and the PM said that the country must also come together to get through these difficult times. His message could not be clearer – the Government will play its part but your country needs you.

Sunny Manchester

I’m back home in Yorkshire after a busy week at the Conservative party Conference in sunny Manchester – okay, it did rain Tuesday, and a bit on Wednesday. Here are my conference Top Ten moments:

1. David Cameron’s closing speech. We will need to confront Britain’s culture of irresponsibility, and that will be hard to take for many people. We will have to tear down Labour’s big government bureaucracy.
