The Final Countdown

The Team and I

On the 1st March I celebrated my third anniversary as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Colne Valley. I was selected at an Open Primary attended by over 100 local people. Since then my team and I have been fighting to save local services including post offices, New Mill library, bus services and maternity care at the HRI. We’ve had electoral success in the last set of local elections where we took 2000 votes off the Lib Dems, we topped the European poll ahead of Labour with the Lib Dems trailing in 5th and now we are just weeks away from the General Election.

It’d be a huge honour to be the MP for our area. It’s cracking part of the world to live in. My family settled here in the 1980s. I live in Honley in the home I own. My parents are just up the valley and I have many good friends here.

There’s now just a few weeks to go until the general election and my enthusiastic and hard working team are ready for the final push. Thank you to everyone who has come forward to help out and for the wonderful messages of support, there are just too many to mention. I’m extremely proud of our campaign – we have a positive message, we’ve raised funds locally and we deliver huge amounts of our literature by hand. I don’t get paid a penny in pay or expenses for my political activity and I am now on a sabbatical from work so that I can knock on thousands of doors every week.

I’m hoping we can make it a double success for blues in May as I’d love to see Huddersfield Town winning promotion to the Championship via the playoffs.
