Huddersfield Examiner Community Awards

Jason joined in a night of celebration and emotion at the Galpharm Stadium as local people were honoured for their achievements. Congratulations to all the winners, including:

  • Neil and Rachael Salmon from Lindley who won the Services to Charity Award for their work with The Joseph Salmon Trust:

  • Sally-Ann and her son Ben from the Waves Day Care Centre in Slaithwaite who won the Community Project of the Year award:

  • Holme Valley based poet Simon Armitage picked up the Achievement Award.
  • Simon’s Dad Peter won the Arts Award for his fundraising efforts with the Marsden based Avalanche Dodgers.
  • Eight year old Ben Pogson from Linthwaite had the audience in tears as he picked up the Courage Award. Ben has undergone major heart surgery and now raises for money for the unit that saved his life.
  • The Honley Show team picked up the gong for Community Event of the Year.
