Speaking out for Yorkshire’s Children’s Heart Unit

Jason took part in a well attended debate on the review of congenital cardiac services being carried out by the NHS and spoke on behalf of the children’s heart surgery unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

He praised the work of the Save Our Surgery campaign team and highlighted inconsistencies in the review, which is seeking to reduce the number of pediatric cardiac units in England and Wales.

The children’s heart surgery Unit in Leeds is accessible to nearly 14 million people within 2 hours travel time, including 5.5 million people in Yorkshire & the Humber – one of the highest population coverage of all the units in England.
