World Bhangra Day

Jason joined in with the dress rehearsal for World Bhangra day. The event at Huddersfield Town Hall starts at 7pm this Saturday 13th April and will celebrate the heritage of Bhangra dancing.

World Bhangra Day

The night will feature live dancing from a local Bhangra dance troupe, as well as live video link to celebrations occurring in Brisbane, Mumbai, Vancouver, New York and Panjab.

There will also be a live dance performance involving children from schools across the Holme Valley, Colne Valley and Lindley. The performance was the idea of VIRSA (which means heritage in Punjabi), a Kirklees-based community project which received £30,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for its ‘Bhangra Renaissance’ project.

For ticket or more information please call Kirklees Booking Offices on 01484 223200.
