Friend to Friend

Jason met again with the Friend to Friend group at the Phoenix Centre in Holmfirth.

Friend to Friend

Last year Friend to Friend were awarded a grant of £7,700 from the Heritage Lottery Fund which helped launched the group’s ‘Diamond Years’ project’. The project aimed to communicate what life was like in the Holme Valley in 1952, the year that the coronation was announced. The project celebrated and gathered information year by recording memories of people’s everyday lives and their special memories of the Coronation celebrations.

Jason joined the group for a traditional lunch which celebrated the project’s success. The group kept up the theme with coronation chicken, homemade decorative hats, and bunting.

  1. My Mum joined Friend to Friend when she moved from Bradford over 10 years ago. The organisation provides a wonderful platform for getting people (of a more mature age!) together. My Mum was at this party, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Long may their good works for the community continue.
