15 local community groups were represented at a Big Lottery funding advice surgery hosted by Jason McCartney MP at Netherton Moor Community Centre. The aim of the event was to link up local community groups with the Big Lottery funding team to find out about funding streams for local projects and advice on applications. Among those attending were Mark Reynolds from Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club who’s currently converting a Mill in Milnsbridge into his new boxing centre, the Friends of Beaumont Park, Experience Community who help disabled people get access to our countryside and Mardsen Football Club.

“We got really positive feedback from the community groups who came, “said Jason. “I’m always keen to make sure that our area gets its fair share of lottery funding and this was the aim of the first of a series of events with the lottery team I’ll be hosting. Thanks to Stephen Knight and the team at Netherton Community centre for hosting us.”
