Jason was in the chamber of the House of Commons on the historic day the Prime Minister triggered article 50. The people of the Colne and Holme valleys and Lindley will see a country working for everyone, now the Prime Minister has started the process for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.
The Prime Minister, Theresa May will now lead the Conservative Government to deliver on a Plan for Britain.
The plan means there will be a fairer society where success is based on merit, not privilege, a stronger economy where everybody plays by the same rules and a global Britain that is outward-looking.
Jason welcomed the triggering of Article 50 and said he was determined to deliver on these plans for everybody living in Colne Valley. “As the Conservative Government begins negotiations with our friends in Europe, we will provide as much certainty and clarity as we can at every stage.”
Jason will continue to keep you updated throughout the process on his web site. The Government has also launchedplanforbritain.gov.uk which sets out the 12 negotiating objectives as they build a new and equal partnership with the European Union.
“Conservatives have a plan to get the right deal for Britain abroad and a better deal for ordinary working people in Colne Valley too. Our Plan for Britain will deliver a country that is stronger, fairer, more united and more outward-looking than ever before.” Jason said.
