Thank you to the 14,007 local people who voted for me on 4th July. Sadly it wasn’t enough for me to be re-elected as the MP for the Colne & Holme valleys and Lindley.
Obviously the national campaign didn’t help whilst it’s easy to oppose without coming up with any real solutions.
A huge thank you to my amazing Parliamentary team and my happy band of volunteers. I’m so proud of the positive community-focused campaign we ran.
Congratulations to Paul Davies and his team and thank you to the other candidates for putting themselves forward.
I'm looking forward to a busy summer of community events and I've got my Huddersfield Town season ticket ready for the big kick-off in League One.
